Kamamalu is a design-build project of 31 housing units in three multi-story buildings, under an agreement between Kauai Lagoons LLC and the county of Kauai to provide affordable housing within the resort site.
Bow Engineering provided civil engineering services for the infrastructure design of roadway, parking lot, water, sewer and drainage systems to support the housing units. We also provided the design for access to the project site, as well as off-site frontage improvements to bring Haoa Street into current county and state standards. The off-site improvements required a complex traffic analysis to determine the necessary turn lane queue lengths, the sight distance restrictions and other safety concerns. As part of the scope of work, we obtained the grading permit and NPDES for the project.
