Design for the replacement of 2,700 lineal feet of the existing 12-inch domestic waterline in the Mapunapuna Industrial Subdivision. Design included plan and profiles, connection schematics, and traffic control plans. Prior to the design, a feasibility study was undertaken to determine the most cost-effective alignment for the replacement waterline including options for crossing the Moanalua Stream Bridge.
Included in the scope of work was the permitting process, various county and state agencies, as well as NPDES permits for construction, storm water runoff, dewatering effluent, and hydrotesting effluent. The poor soil and high groundwater in the area required additional measures be taken to protect from pipe corrosion and to avoid complications due to the high dewatering rates.
