In December 2014, Tower Kauai Lagoons, LLC purchased the existing Kauai Lagoons Resort from the Marriott Vacation Club International and rebranded the site to “Hokuala.” When fully developed, Hokuala will include 772 resort residential units and various commercial facilities (restaurants, retail centers, etc.). Bow Engineering was contracted to evaluate the effects of the proposed development on the existing drainage, water, irrigation, and sewer infrastructure. We developed a drainage, water, irrigation, and sewer master plan with construction phasing for the proposed developments.
In addition, we provided the civil construction plans for various resort developments including the Lot 8 Hotel, the Residences at Ninini Point, the Hokuala Golf Clubhouse, the golf course improvements, and the Kapule Highway intersection. We also provided a dam study of the existing lagoon to analyze spillway locations and alternative discharge locations.
