Ala Wai Boulevard Improvements

As part of this design-build beautification project, Bow Engineering provided civil engineering design, planning and construction administration.

We prepared the design plans for the construction of 20 landscaped “bulbout” areas along Ala Wai Boulevard (Mauka) to improve aesthetic and visual appeal, and the design for the ADA curb ramps and drainage improvements along the highly used roadway.  We also prepared the pavement stripping and signage plan which included the bike path striping and signage.

In addition, we acted as the prime consultant by obtaining permits and coordinating directly with the Department of Design and Construction for the contractor and landscape architect.  At DDC’s request, we combined the design drawings done by another civil firm for ADA curb ramps replacement into this project.
