Bow Engineering was contracted by the University of Hawaiʻi to evaluate the existing walkway conditions throughout the Mānoa campus. This involved creating an inventory of existing walkways, identifying and evaluating deficiencies and hazards, prioritizing recommended restorations and improvements, recommending construction of additional walkways, and verifying conformance to the 2010 American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for ramps along the UH-Mānoa designated accessible routes.
Survey results, analysis and cost estimates were reported in the University of Hawaiʻi, Mānoa Campus Walkways Restoration and Improvement Master Plan. Recommendations aimed to improve pedestrian access between facilities on campus and improve pedestrian safety.
